Today we will review three new English vocabulary words. Elevation, Parallel, and Contour. Review the definitions below and then look at the 3 example sentences for each English vocabulary word. After reviewing the information, try to make your own sentences. Then check out all of the other English Vocabulary words. 

ENGLISH VOCABULARY

VOCABULARYDEFINITION
Elevation"Height above a given level, especially sea level"
Parallel"Side by side and having the same distance continuously between them"
Contour"An outline, especially one representing or bounding the shape or form of something"

ELEVATION

#SENTENCE EXAMPLES
1The elevation is too high to use heavy pieces of wood.
2This city is located at a very high elevation.
3The elevation of the city is quite high.

PARALLEL

#SENTENCE EXAMPLES
1I need to place the walls parallel to each other.
2The openings were situated parallel to each other.
3My house runs parallel to the river.

CONTOUR

#SENTENCE EXAMPLES
1He traced the contours of her face with his finger.
2As an artist, you must make sure to draw contour lines.
3The contours of the dress make you look great.
