I wonder why you think that especially English learners are especially lazy. In my experience and IMHO, English native speakers, at least those of them who I usually met to practice our speaking skills, are almost always so lazy and not hard workers at all.
Gringos always think they are the most hard workers in the world, they never have time because they always work a lot and bla bla bla…
